Hi and welcome to the online home of Protos - the UK Prog Rock band formed in the late 70's and based in Chichester, West Sussex, England.
If you have found this site by actively seeking us out, then thank you! There is information a-plenty to come about albums and history. If you found this site quite by accident, do feel free to browse around - we are convinced you will like what you find.
The band was active until 1984. Then we took a well earned 22-year break before joining forces to release both our old and new work. Back then we released one album entitled One Day A New Horizon and also appeared on a compilation album sponsored by Airship, pioneers of new musical talent in and around Chichester (United Kingdom). A comprehensive history of the band appears elsewhere on this site.
There is a photo gallery, though do remember that nearly all the images here are pre-digital. A music library containing studio and live performances is available privately to owners of our LP and the Collectors Edition CD. Others can get a flavour of our studio and live work by visiting the SoundClick site. Last, but certainly not least, you can purchase our albums from this site.
The Noble Pauper's Grave - our first studio offering for 25 years - is now available!
(GBP 8.50 + 1.50 P & P)
The Noble Pauper's Grave (Retail CD) contains 13 tracks that tell the story of a man born to privilege who rejects his upbringing to rally the poor. With 7 music tracks, 6 narratives organised into a seemless 51-minute performance, this is the ultimate addition to your art-rock collection. It will also appeal strongly to choreographers looking for inventive and moving dance music.
You are currently listening to Departures, the closing track from the album.
N.B. Digital Stores have MP3/MP4 versions of the album containing only the 7 music tracks.
